Production (Shoot) Log, Pre-Production

Before starting any pre-production, our teacher made it clear as to how essential it was to analyze other teaser trailers before coming up with any ideas for our own.

The first task we ventured upon was creating a questionnaire that would help reveal our target audience, which we handed out to a number of varied people. Our results were conclusive to the fact that our target audience were young teenagers who preferred to watch films that had a narrative based on the thriller conventions.

We then conjured up a number of different ideas that mostly revolved around a deranged serial killer with a psychosis. We found it of high importance to have a some sort of plot twist that our viewers would most enjoy.

When we finally had our pitch describing our narrative in detail, as a group we used the device of a wordle to generate a title for our movie. Deathly Obsession was born out of this device.

Before starting any written work like scripting and scheduling we formed a Treatment that displays all of our ideas that would be presented as a business plan.

From that we set out to story board our movie, writing in detail every shot we would like to include which then helped us to script the film, though we have not been able to scan those writings up onto the computer.

Finally we created a schedule that lists out our whole day of shooting so that we would have a clear plan to follow.
